The Billionaire Saw His Ex Waiting for Food at His Shelter, and the Little Boy Beside Her Called Her Mom

Part 2: She looked as if she expected him to laugh.

“Textile design. Pattern construction.”

“That sounds difficult.”

“It is.”

He waited.

She lifted her chin. “But difficult doesn’t mean impossible.”

That had been the first crack in the wall around him.

After that, he started finding reasons to be in the kitchen late.

He asked about fabrics. She asked about the first business he ever built. He told her things he had not told women wearing diamonds at charity galas. She told him she wanted to open a small bridal atelier someday, not because weddings were glamorous but because every woman deserved to wear something made with care.

He fell in love slowly enough to deny it and deeply enough that denial became ridiculous.

Anna had tried to stop it.
