The Ruthless Billionaire Mafia Boss Had Not Felt His Legs in Nine Years Until the Curvy Maid Fell Against Him and Exposed the Man Who Had Been Burying Him Alive

Part 2: “I make him believe I am taking them.”

“And when he gives you another injection?”

Gabriel looked toward the closed door. “We make sure the injection never reaches me.”

Beatrice wrapped her arms around herself. “Mr. Rossi, these are dangerous people.”

“I am one of those dangerous people.”

“That doesn’t mean they can’t kill you.”

“No.” His eyes settled on her. “It means they should have killed me before allowing me to feel your hand.”

The following morning, Gabriel awoke with a headache so severe that light seemed to split his skull. His hands shook. Sweat soaked his shirt, and nausea rolled through him in waves.

Beatrice found him gripping the bedrail, his teeth clenched against withdrawal.

“I’m calling someone,” she said.

He caught her wrist. “No.”

“You could have a seizure.”

“You know that from cleaning bathrooms?”

The insult made her flinch, but she did not retreat.

“I was a certified nursing assistant for six years,” she said. “My mother had multiple sclerosis. I took care of her until she died, and then I worked in long-term rehabilitation. I quit when Emily got sick because the facility wouldn’t give me time to take her to chemotherapy.”

Gabriel released her.

“Why did you apply as a maid?”

“Because people are always hiring someone to clean up after them. They are not always hiring someone who missed seven shifts in two months.”

Another wave of pain crossed his face.

Beatrice soaked a cloth in cold water and placed it against his neck. “You need a physician who isn’t connected to Dr. Langley.”

“I cannot trust anyone in my medical network.”

“I know a rehabilitation doctor in Albany. Dr. Mara Ellis treated my mother. She doesn’t know anything about your business, and she doesn’t care about powerful names.”

Gabriel almost smiled. “Everyone cares about powerful names.”

“Dr. Ellis once made a state senator wait in the hallway because he arrived late.”

“Call her.”

Beatrice stared at him. “You confiscate our phones.”

Gabriel reached beneath the mattress and produced a small burner phone.

“Of course you have a secret phone in your bed.”

“I have three guns in this room. The phone surprises you?”
