She Smashed the Mafia Boss’s Car Window to Save His Grandmother, and He Never Looked Away Again

Part 2: “Ask her.”

No one spoke to Dante Moretti that way. Evelyn could see it in the alarmed expressions around them.

But Dante looked at his grandmother.

“Do you want to go inside, go home, or go to the hospital?”

Rosa’s shoulders relaxed by a fraction.

“Inside. Somewhere quiet. Then I will decide whether I attend my luncheon.”

Dante nodded.

“Your decision.”

It was only two words, but Evelyn saw what they cost him.

Rosa refused to release her hand, so Evelyn accompanied them into a private sitting room behind the ballroom. The room was crowded with velvet chairs and anxious employees.

Evelyn moved three chairs away from Rosa.

“She doesn’t need an audience.”

The hotel manager began to protest.

Dante looked at him.

The manager left.

Rosa drank water while Dante stood near the fireplace, holding his anger so tightly that it seemed to bend the room around him.

The blonde woman entered without knocking.

“Dante, the donors are becoming restless.”
