The Jealous Mafia Boss Was Stunned When His Maid Said She’d Be Late!

“I Have a Date Tonight” — The Jealous Mafia Boss Was Stunned When His Maid Said She’d Be Late!

“I have a date tonight.”

Hannah Brooks said it softly, almost apologetically.

Across the desk, Damian Moretti snapped a six-hundred-dollar fountain pen in half.

Ink spread over his fingers. A thin line of blood appeared across his palm.

Hannah rushed around the desk and took his hand before he could stop her.

“You’re bleeding.”

“I’ve survived worse.”

“That doesn’t make this good.”

She pressed her flowered handkerchief into his palm, completely unaware that one of New York’s most feared crime bosses had forgotten how to breathe.

Damian’s voice turned dangerously calm.

“Who is he?”

“His name is Ethan Cross. My friend arranged dinner.”

“You’ve never met him?”

“No.”

“And you intend to be alone with him?”

Hannah’s expression hardened.

“I know how to take care of myself.”

Damian released her hand before his concern began sounding like the control she had once escaped.

“You may leave early.”

Her grateful smile made the jealousy worse.

Hours later, Hannah entered a rooftop restaurant wearing a soft blue dress.

Ethan was handsome, attentive, and interested in everything she said. He asked about her work at the Moretti estate. About its security. About Damian.

Across the street, Damian watched from beside a black SUV while armed men quietly surrounded the building.

His intelligence chief approached with a tablet.

“Ethan Cross doesn’t exist.”

Damian looked at the manufactured records, the false employment history, and the six women Ethan had courted under different names.

Every woman had access to someone powerful.

Two had disappeared.

Inside, a waiter placed a sparkling drink beside Hannah.

Ethan smiled as she wrapped her fingers around the glass.

Then Damian’s earpiece crackled.

“Boss, don’t let her drink.”

Hannah raised the glass toward her lips.

And the restaurant doors slammed open.

Damian Moretti crossed the dining room with murder in his eyes, heading straight for the woman who had no idea her harmless date had just become a trap.

Every conversation stopped as Damian reached Hannah’s table.

“Mr. Moretti?”

He took the glass from her hand without answering and poured it into a decorative plant.

The leaves curled almost instantly.
