The Mafia Boss Fired Nine Secretaries Until the Clumsy Girl Spilled Coffee and Found the Lie That Could Bury Him

Part 2: Taking care of my father while he forgot my name, she always wanted to say.

Instead, she said, “Family responsibilities.”

Then people smiled politely and chose someone else.

Bellandi Group had chosen her only because every qualified candidate in Boston had heard about Luca Bellandi’s nine secretaries and refused the job.

Grace dried her hands and returned to her desk.

At five thirty, she made her second mistake.

Luca had asked her to organize his afternoon folders. Grace stacked them by urgency, then color, then date, then realized she had overthought the entire assignment and started again. While reaching for his fountain pen to label a file, she dropped it.

The pen rolled under a cabinet.

Grace dropped to her knees, reached beneath the cabinet, and touched something paper instead.

A sealed envelope.

It was covered in dust and wedged behind the back panel, as if someone had shoved it there in a hurry.

Grace pulled it out and hesitated.
