The mafia boss shattered a crystal glass when the curvy chef said she did not have a boyfriend yet

Part 2: Her hand stilled.

Aiden’s eyes softened. “I heard it was intense.”

“That’s one word for it.”

“Did Lorenzo Moretti bother you?”

The casual way he said the name made Camila look at him more closely.

“You know him?”

“I know of him. Everyone does.”

“I served desserts. That’s all.”

Aiden stepped closer and gently wiped a spot of pastry cream from her knuckle with a paper towel.

Normally, the gesture would have made her blush.

Today, her skin prickled.

“Hey,” Aiden said softly. “I’m not trying to interrogate you. I just worry.”

“About me?”

“Yes, about you.”

He smiled again, and some of her tension loosened. Aiden was normal. Safe. A man who worked too many shifts and drank too much coffee and made bad jokes when inventory went missing.

Lorenzo Moretti was not real life.

He was a storm that had passed through a room.

“You still coming tomorrow?” Aiden asked.

“To coffee?”

“To coffee.” His smile turned playful. “And maybe to hear me officially ask you to be my girlfriend.”

The word girlfriend should have felt sweet.

Instead, Camila heard crystal breaking.
